BIO: Sophia’s portraiture is fueled by her desire to create art that will speak volumes about the moments captured for generations to come. Her passion for the craft originates from her personal battle with infertility and she loves to use art as a vehicle to celebrate the strength, beauty, courage, vulnerability, and love of her clients. As a child growing up in a small northern town in Massachusetts with traditional Caribbean parents, the likelihood of falling into the path of photography was slim. Immediately following her graduation from Suffolk University New England School of Design with a degree in Interior Design, she migrated to Atlanta in search of a new start. After a few years of working for other companies, she decided to venture out and become her own boss. For the first 7-8 years of her business, she focused primarily on weddings and engagements, but over the last 4-5 years she has completely transitioned to portraiture photography with the predominant focus being on women.
